We had the honour of welcoming a delegation from the German Embassy Colombo to our Monastery. Our distinguished guests participated in our traditional Dakkhineyo Almsgiving ceremony, followed by a very special Buddha Pooja conducted in both German and Sinhala by our Ven. Maithree Thero of Germany. Our guests embraced the monastery’s green initiative and planted mango trees near our newly established rehabilitation centre which aims to help young people overcome drug addiction—symbolizing our commitment to a sustainable and renewable world.
Our children from the Little Britain Programme warmly welcomed and guided our visitors through their home, creating a special atmosphere of community and connection. One of our Anagarikas gave a heartfelt speech about her life in the monastery and how she found true happiness through associating with noble friends. Finally, we engaged in an inspiring discussion about the nature of happiness, leaving us all enriched and enlightened.
Our heartfelt appreciation goes to our German friends for visiting us at our monastery and sharing these meaningful moments with us.
