Royal Institute International School visit

Royal Institute International School has been a trailblazer in Sri Lanka, providing education to thousands of students over the past five decades. During a recent visit to the Jethanvanara Monastery, teachers, students, parents, and non-academic staff had the opportunity to witness firsthand the noble compassion extended to all who cross paths with us at the monastery. This experience underscored the importance of nurturing students’ spiritual intelligence alongside their academic performance, as recognized by the school’s educators.

As students of the Jethavanarama Monastery and Buddhist International School, we have extended our hospitality to students from other schools in the island, offering them a unique chance to visit the monastery and participate in various meritorious activities. These included listening to the teachings of the Buddha on the path to unconditional happiness, participating in Buddha Pooja ceremonies, and offering alms (Pindapatha) to over 100 monks, Angārikas and Anagārikās. Additionally, participants could worship the “Seehala Maha Seya” pagoda which enshrines over 100 holy relics and engage in individual Buddhist counselling sessions followed by meditation to reflect on their experiences in a serene environment.

This experience provided all participants a priceless respite from their busy lives, leaving an indelible sense of inner peace in their hearts. The smiles that adorned the faces of everyone present spoke volumes, proving the profound impact of this experience beyond mere words.
