Celebrating Culture, Embracing Tradition

A select number of traditionally and culturally significant events are hosted throughout the year at our monastery, which infuse a delightful vibrance and serve an opportunity to bring everyone connected to the monastery together. 

We launch ourselves into every New Year with the auspicious oil anointing ceremony. Overnight Pirith and Karmasthana chanting events provide our devotees the opportunity to invoke the blessings and protection of the Noble Triple Gem and transfer merits to their loved ones. Higher-ordained monks observe the customary three-month annual rains retreat. Throughout this period of lent they observe additional precepts which intensify their practice and culminates in the offering of the tremendously meritorious Katina robe
